About Me
I was raised in the Appalachian mountains of New York hiking what is now Granite Mountain Preserve in Putnam Valley; the Catskills and the Adirondacks. I have always been interested in the history of these regions and the relationships of the settlers and explorers with the Indigenous People. That relationship involved trade of goods and one of those was the trade of Wool Blankets. From those blankets the French introduced "Capotes" which is the French word for Coat. My fascination and love for this "Capote" has developed into the Blanket Coats and Trade Shirts that I make for you, hand stitched, in the skill and tradition of the Indigenous Women that clothed their people.
